(Re) Discovering Columbus (Circle)

We quickly sailed through the canals of the Time Warner building lobby (to utilize their heads), then under the guidance of their color-changing celestial bodies, we sailed our psychic NinaPintaSantaMarias across the sea of traffic to the island at the center of Columbus Circle to explore the art installation there.

'Discovering Columbus'
is a 'living-room' that has been built over scaffolding surrounding the statue of Christopher Columbus at the center of the circle.
The room is set up complete with couches, bookshelves, and a television.  You can relax and watch the flat-screen television, read a magazine or newspapers, or wander around and take in the unique views of Central Park & the streets surrounding. from the windows and platforms provided.
The enormous statue of Columbus stands in the center of the coffee table.
After the run of the exhibition the marble statue will be renovated.  It will be interesting to look up at it again in it's normal setting when this is all done.

Not really as, shall we say, cozy as a certain living room uptown, but quite impressive nevertheless. He must be tough to dust all the time...but I did like the views!
